Ungraduate students of Smart Information and Communication Engineering’s Winning the Excellent Paper Award at the Korean Entertainment Industry Association Conference

The ungraduate students of Smart Information and Communication Engineering of Sangmyung University (Kim Min-Gyu, Kim Ye-Rin, Jeong Hyung-Min, and Lim Chae-Hyun)won the excellent paper award at the Korean Entertainment Industry Association conference. Korea Entertainment Industry, which was established in 2007, leads the entertainment industry field’s continuous development not only with industry and policy of entertainment industry field but also through academic research, technical development, publication of theses, hosting academic conferences for related technology and convergence technology. At the conference of this association, the students won the excellent paper award with the topic of “real-time communicative parking lot reservation system.” This system was created to reduce inundation damage of underground parking lots which is common in the rainy season and to use parking space more efficiently.
Contents of the Paper
The Korean Entertainment Industry Association conference was held with the theme “Reflective Study on the Entertainment Industry of Modern Society.” The paper that won the excellent paper award introduces installation of water level detection and water stop at the entrance of parking lots to prevent inundation damage in the rainy season, and tells about the development of an application that allows drivers to book parking space and communicate to use the parking spots effectively.
Meaning of this Award
More than 80 people participated, and 22 papers were published in this conference of the Korean Entertainment Industry. The fact that the four ungraduate students of our university won the excellent paper award at this academic conference where many people participated is a very proud and noticeable achievement. Kim Min-Gyu, the representative of the award-winning team says that “Thanks to our academic advisor for sparing no efforts of devoted instruction in the research process, I will continue to make an effort for contributing to the society through academic performance with the students who did the research together.” Park Hyun-Joo, a professor of Smart Information and Communication Engineering of Sangmyung University, says “Though there were many challenges and difficulties in doing research, I hope that the students who made this big result with their persistence and hard work will keep being able to make in progress with continuous study.”
This result of the four undergraduate students of Smart Information and Communication Engineering of our university is a remarkable achievement. I think the content of the paper, which is about “real-time communicative parking lot reservation system,” reflects well on the difficulties in the rainy season. Therefore, I hope that many people will know about this achievement of our university’s students, and I also hope there will be many proud things like this in our university in the future.
