32nd Sangmyung University Fashion Design Graduation Fashion Show

Sangmyung University’s Fashion Design Major held the graduation fashion show POST_turning point on October 29th. The fashion show was held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19.
About the Graduation Fashion Show
Unlike the past few years when it was held online due to COVID-19, this year, the graduation fashion show was held face-to-face. The graduation fashion show was held on October 29th at the Event Hall on the third floor of the CMG Textile Center. At the runway, 52 graduation works of 25 graduates majoring in fashion design were presented. These works offer a variety of designs ranging from trendy casual looks to antique dress designs to reinterpretations of Korean costumes. The stage was filled with costumes with each of the seven groups’ moods and unique concepts.

This graduation fashion show was designed under the theme of POST_turning point with a message of expectation and hope from senior students moving into a new world that has changed since the COVID-19 pandemic. Professor Yeom Hye-soo, who teaches about the design field, said, “I wish bright glory and luck in the future of prospective designers who have created works with various ideas for their turning point in the main theme of POST interpreted by senior students.”
In addition, Lee Joo-hee, the winner of this year’s Super Model Contest, participated as a model for SMU’s graduation fashion show; it became a topic of conversation.
Furthermore, an exhibition of graduation works by senior students majoring in fashion design was held from November 9th to 14th. In this exhibition, works made by students using what they have learned were displayed, and it would be good to appreciate them with the works of the graduation fashion show.
