Sangmyung University to Establish a New Department

In the midst of news of Sangmyung University, two high-tech departments will be established and select 74 new students in the Cheonan campus of Sangmyung University from 2021. Sangmyung University has been working hard for training professional personnel. Furthermore, high-tech industry-oriented education was introduced to realize the vision of an “innovative talent-building college leading the future society.”

The new high-tech department will recruit 32 students majoring in AR and VR media design at the Design College and 42 students majoring in Green Smart City at the Convergence Technology College. AR and VR media design majors will recruit 10 students for the student record curriculum, 4 students for the student record comprehensive screening, and 1 person for the student record general regular rotation. The Department of Green Smart City will recruit 18 students for the student record curriculum, eight students for the top-name talent screening for the student record, and three students for the regular rotation of the student record.
Recently, AR·VR basic industry has entered the used actively stage in various fields of industry because that industry was reorganized and extended to a design-oriented contents industry. Through the creation of these high-tech departments, Sangmyung University reflects this period change and is going to lead the education revolution that reinforces field practice by major, engineering of high-tech and science on design basis, humanities of content and storytelling, and marketing of design management business.
